Solar Days – here to help you
There has been a lot of adverse publicity recently following the substantial cuts to the Feed in Tariff (FIT) in mid-January 2016. As a result, many solar installers have left the industry. Those that have kept going have often lost key staff and expertise in this rapidly-developing technology.
The important news is that solar power has not gone away! We at Solar Days are here with all the skills, staff and experience required to provide you with new solar arrays or upgrades and repairs to existing systems. Newly installed arrays are still giving a payback period (return on investment of 6 – 8%; which was the governments original intention all along!
The key message for those with a solar array is that the best-value installations are those where as much of the power generated is used on-site rather then being exported to the Grid. A popular upgrade is to fit a diverter module which heats water when surplus power is available. Batteries are also gradually becoming better and cheaper; an option which may suit your needs.

Feed in Tariff announcement 17th December 2015
The Department of the Environment and Climate Change (DECC) has announced its decision today over the future of the Feed in Tariff (FIT) scheme which provides incentive for installation of solar panels. This will substantially reduce the tariff from mid-January 2016.
FIT rates are to be as follows for domestic (up to 10kW) systems:
16th January – 31st March 2016: 4.39p/kWh for 0 – 10kW
1st April – 30th June 2016: 4.32p/kWh for 0 – 10kW
Don’t forget, we are also here to maintain, repair and upgrade existing solar arrays.
Feed in Tariffs from 1st July announced
Ofgem has confirmed the Feed in Tariffs for solar photovoltaic technology for the period starting 1 July 2013 until 1 October 2013.
The new FiT rates for installations with an eligibility date on or after 1 July 2013 are:
||FiT rate p/kWh
Despite installations in the 0-50kW range falling short of the stated trigger levels, the 0-4kW, >4-10kW, >10-50kW will all degress by 3.5% as a result of the tariff reduction method that the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) included as part of the revised feed-in tariff.
Solar Days at Energy Now Expo
Our stand at the two-day Energy Now Expo last week attracted a lot of attention and we have received plenty of enquiries as a result. Thank you for all those who came to talk to us. We are contacting all those who asked for a call and will be proceeding to survey, design and quotation soon.
Solar Days at Energy Now Expo
Solar Days will be exhibiting at the Energy Now Expo to be held at the Telford International Centre on 13 – 14 February 2013. This is a two-day conference and exhibition designed to bring together farmers & landowners from all over the UK to help them explore and further understand the opportunities available in renewable energy types – wind, biomass, biofuels, biogas, ground source heating, hydro and solar.
The conference will focus on all aspects of renewable energy, while the exhibition will provide a showcase of more than 160 suppliers demonstrating the latest technologies.
Solar Days has seen a substantial increase in interest in solar photovoltaic installations from farmers and landowners and has undertaken numerous installations of solar arrays on farms. We see this as an excellent opportunity to meet potential customers in our region. See http://www.energynowexpo.co.uk/ for more information. Entry is free and we look forward to meeting past and future customers on our stand.
